Here you will find a database of over 2,000 programs from over 300 institutions as well as articles, tables and data pertaining to science master's education and the master's workforce. The clearinghouse was developed with funding provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

New Science Master's Education Book
The Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) has published a broad and comprehensive guide to best practices, activities and processes required to create a professional master’s program which draws on the experiences of participants in the CGS Professional Master’s Initiative. This book provides essential advice for graduate deans, universities and faculty on the development of collaborative degrees as well as interaction with business, industry and government to devise programs that respond to regional employer needs. Program Description
The sociology faculty at American University in Washington, DC, announces a new concentration in Professional Sociology within the Master of Arts in Sociology. The Professional MA concentration, which begins in Fall 2006, is designed to provide students with training to use theories and methods of sociology in a wide range of work settings, including social activism and advocacy. The program of study leads to career paths ranging from grassroots organizing and work in community-based non-profit agencies and non-governmental organizations to employment in government agencies or legislative offices and jobs in "think tanks," advocacy organizations, or private consulting.
